What is your role at Advanced Infrastructure?

I'm the Energy Modelling and Data Lead at Advanced Infrastructure. My role is to manage the collection, cleaning, and generation of energy sector datasets within the team, ensuring high-quality inputs for the LAEP+ platform. I oversee the development, maintenance, and integration of these datasets to support advanced geospatial analysis. Leveraging my background in electrical engineering, I also lead the setup and management of UK-wide electricity network distribution datasets, ensuring their accuracy and seamless integration into geospatial models.

What led you to join the team at Advanced Infrastructure?

Before joining Advanced Infrastructure, I worked as a Performance Improvement Specialist in a large FMCG company where I focused on enhancing machinery efficiency, and applying data analysis to drive improvements. I also served as a Design Engineer for a distribution electricity network contractor, where I contributed to the design and infrastructure development of low-voltage (LV) networks. These roles allowed me to combine technical knowledge with practical experience. What drew me to Advanced Infrastructure was the opportunity to contribute to the intersection of data and energy, an area I’ve always been passionate about. Here, I’ve been able to deepen my skills, work on impactful projects, and play a role in driving the energy transition.

Which project have you enjoyed working on the most at Advanced Infrastructure?

My experiences at Adavnced Infrastructure have been overwhelmingly positive, but one particular highlight has been the ongoing Scenario Modeller project. This project has showcased exceptional collaboration among team members from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating how effective teamwork can significantly impact our progress toward a common goal.

What do you find most rewarding about your role?

The most rewarding part of my role is collaborating with industry to drive a smoother energy transition and leading my team to develop the best solutions. I can see the real-world impact of our work and how it is truly valued. The agile environment I work in, along with the opportunities for growth and development, makes my role even more fulfilling.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I'm passionate about reading, spending quality time with loved ones, watercolor painting, and playing the violin. These interests keep me balanced and refreshed.
